As part of our stocks, we have instruments with unique serial numbers. Would miniMRP be able to identify the individual instrument within a total stock number of several hundred?

This is something we're looking at for our next V5 later this year. I can't promise that it will be included though. Features are based on demand from users.
It would be quite simple to add serial numbers to inventory items - where each component and/or assembly - can have a unique serial number. But we'd also need to record the serial number when an item is purchased, consumed in an assembly and then when the assembly is sold. That's actually quite a lot of functionality for a "Mini" MRP program and I fear may affect the price.
Anyone else interested in this feature then please add comment below.
Feedback we're looking for is:-
1. Do we just record record the serial numbers of individual inventory items but not track those serial numbers through consumption/sale.
2. Or, at the other extreme, we track serial numbers from purchase/creation all the way through consumption and final sale. (ie full serial number tracking)

Serial numbers (and/or batch numbers) would be ideal for where traceability is required. Presently, I use an external spreadsheet - not ideal.

Serial numbers are a much needed feature. I have been looking at other software for the near future so I can manage serial numbers.

We have 3 licenses and would absolutely love "end to end" serial number tracking. Some of our items we resell are high value and for us to keep track of when each came in and where each went in one app would be a great help. At a minimum, if there was a better way of tying serial numbers to customer orders than using the comment field, I would love it.

For us, "end to end" serial number tracking falls in the "nice to have" category, but tracking end-item serial numbers to customer orders would help us.
