Topic:   Stop tracking inventory for certain items

By: GuestPosted on: Jul 18 2013 at 04:35:34 PM
When we create an assembly, we also create an Assembly document for which we have created a part number and listed in the BOM. When the Assembly is built, miniMrp ofcourse reduces the inventory quantity for all items in the BOM. Is there a way to prevent minimrp from reducing the quantity on our Assembly document so it does not show up as a negative number in the inventory?

Ideally, documents should be something that is "infinitely in stock" and not have it's quantity reduced.

Maybe there is a way to already do this but I wasn't able to figure it out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Not yet possible.

But we intend to add a category for items which exist on a bom amd which have a value so they affect the cost of the assembly but which do not get adjusted out of stock when the assembly is built. For example untracked consumables or labour etc.

Sorry. I cant give you a definite timescale on this but we expect to release a number of new features early 2014.

We use something similar on our assemblies, calling up build information documents. These are called up on the BOM but with a quantity of zero so the stock level does not reduce. This seems to work OK.

Is this feature still anticipated for an upcoming version of miniMRP E?
