Our orders are charged to specific jobs. To make sure we bill to only current jobs and keep them correct we use a pulldown list. Manually typing the job/reference on a PO is just asking for mistakes. Is it possible to have this as a pull down or check against a list?

Hello Bob. the Job/Costing ref thing is quite a new addition to MiniMRP. It may be improved or changed in future as we get feedback.
So you'd be keying in your job list somewhere else in the software and then any PO that you create can access that list via drop down.
I understand that but we also need some way for a job to be closed so that it stops appearing otherwise the drop down would just grow forever.
I'm not really sure we'll do this but I have added it to the Wish List.

We also are in Bob's situation: We manually enter the job/reference into a PO... and make mistakes. We would use a drop-down list; OK if the list is configured elsewhere in the software.

The pull-down list wouldn't need to grow "forever". List the job and then a check box if it is active. Anything that can be in a table should be in a table to mitigate "fat finger" typing or individuals typing whatever they like.

We need to think about this for a while.
Let's remove one idea straight away though. We're not going to add a new 'Job Admin' kind of functionality to the program. We also won't modify database structure (create table) in the field. In Many cases with the Pro version using SQL server MiniMRP won't even have the necessary permissions to execute an SQL Create Table query.
So we have to use the table structure we've aready got which does not include anywhere to store a list of current/active Job/Refs.
However. The Job/Numbers are already stored within each PO. Once a Job/Ref number has been entered once into a PO we could show a drop down list of all Job/Ref numbers that were ever used. This is that 'expanding forever' list I mentioned. This won't work. We need some way to filter the list. We can't offer a checkbox. We have no Jobs Table in the database to check/uncheck.
We could filter the drop-down to include only the Job/Ref numbers of all active purchase orders. This would work well provided at least one PO with that Job/Ref is still open. If you started a job and fired off a dozen POs then you'd only need to enter that Job/Ref once. All subsequent POs would pick it from the drop down. But what happens if all POs are completed and you want to create a new PO. You'd need to manually key in the job ref again.
Would that work for you?
Another idea might be to populate the drop down with all "Recently Used" job/Ref numbers. How recent?
Maybe a combination of these. so Job Refs from all active POs AND at the bottom of the list options "1 Month", "3 Months". "All time". And/Or filter by keying in the first letter/s of the job/ref number. That would probably work well and is how many other potentially long lists work.
What worries me though is that when you drop-down a list of similar looking numbers we're not showing any other details about the job. It's just a list of numbers that all look pretty much the same so there is a chance of clicking the wrong one. Or 'seeing' the correct one but mistakenly clicking the wrong one (ie fat thumb on Tablet) I reckon there's almost just as much chance of getting it wrong as if you were keying it in manually
Anyway. Just throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks.

And just a little extra - can that job/costing reference be shown on the GRN print?
Thanks

Any of the options given by Support would solve our problem.
