Topic: Assemblies not included in Components list in V5
|
By: Guest | Posted on: Feb 23 2021 at 09:36:46 AM | Looks like there was a change between V4 and V5 where you used to find all the assemblies in the components list. But now you have to search separately in Components and Assemblies for a complete list of parts.
Is there anyway to search both at once? Not all employees know whether a part is an assembly or a component before searching and are now required to search twice fairly often if they guess wrong on the first search.

If no plans to put it back how it was, perhaps a global search category, that way someone can search everything at once.
We are having people doing this multiple times per day now. Likely because they were used to the old way and we have so many part numbers that they do not memorize which is a component only and which is an assembly of components. (And some could be both, it is possible we can purchase an assembly for resale instead of making the components ourselves and assembling, then selling it)

I think another group for 'All Inventory' would be the tidiest. This grid wouldn't need to show all the columns that are specific to one type of part/assembly.
I've put this in the ToDo list.

ToDo list (ie new features) is on hold for a while. We've gone through a LOT of updates recently and we're leaving it as it it is till the dust settles. Bugs ironed out etc.
