Topic: Automatic part price update from PO
|
By: Thomas | Posted on: Apr 8 2021 at 05:04:10 AM | We have just discussed a commonly occuring thing here.
Often we update prices from suppliers in two places, the PO, and the corresponding supplier line on the part itself.
I seem to recall that the system asked whether it should update the underlying part price automatically, but I may be wrong.
Anyone know if this function is there, or some good easy 'MiniMRP' like practice?
Thanks. | |
By: Matt | Posted on: Apr 8 2021 at 05:14:03 AM | In the program setup there's an option/checkbox saying "Auto Update Detail Prices" (Most recent purchase price (received goods)
Now I don't use that option so I can't say what it does but it sounds like if that option is selected then it should do something with prices at the point that the PO is received. So, not when you create the PO but when the item is received from the supplier.
As I said. i don't use that option. Mayb try enabling it and see what it does.

By: Thomas | Posted on: Apr 8 2021 at 05:54:44 AM | Hhhmm, it does have an effect.
I'm getting a window saying something like: 'Unable to complete the command. Please try again later', when trying to receive goods.
Removing the "Auto Update Detail Prices' puts the system back to normal, and goods can be received.
Any idea, Support? | |

By: Support | Posted on: Apr 9 2021 at 02:52:19 AM | Thomas. I think I've found something. What country are you in? Keyboard language?
By: Support | Posted on: Apr 9 2021 at 03:00:31 AM | Yes. There is a problem when the GoodsIn process tries to update prices when the user's Locale uses a comma as a decimal point.
This will be fixed today. If you download and install over the weekend or Monday that problem should be gone.
But please do tell us where you are and what language you're in so that we'll know if this is the problem or if there are others that we didn't spot yet.
By: Thomas | Posted on: Apr 26 2021 at 08:18:08 AM | Sorry for the delay.
Yes, we are indeed using comma as the decimal point. We are located in Denmark, and use the standard Windows setting for DK.
I'll try the update at the first available moment.
By: Gert | Posted on: May 19 2021 at 06:59:05 AM | It looks that we have a similar problem with MRP PRO 5.0.111.0 / MS SQL. We are located in The Netherlands and some users are using the decimal comma, some are using the decimal point. In the setup the 'Auto Update detail prices' is on. In the GRN we can not enter the item price - there is no such field. This must be done afterwards in the PO. These prices are mutilplied by the received qty to get the totals, no problem. So the system can calculate with these prices, they are stored somewhere, I think, but are not used to update the suppliers price in the components. These stay unchanged.
By: Support | Posted on: May 20 2021 at 03:36:32 AM | Hello Gert. I'm not sure I understand.
Is your problem that users can't edit prices in the GRN? and that editing a PO AFTER it has been received has no effect?
The price must be entered into the Purchase Order BEFORE processing the PO and before the receiving (GRN). Prices can not be edited in the GRN and editing prices in a PO after it has been received has no effect.
So, unless I have misunderstood the problem, the problem you describe is actually intentional. It's how the software is supposed to work.
By: Donald | Posted on: Mar 23 2022 at 08:54:32 AM | Hi, Support. I am using ver 4.2.8. I need to update prices for purchased items. Is it available on this version.
By: Guest | Posted on: Mar 25 2022 at 11:38:12 AM | The function to Auto Update the item default prices from the PO is only available in v5
By: Guest | Posted on: Apr 13 2022 at 05:53:56 AM | Don't forget that using this option is going to change the cost of everything you may already have in stock - that will then change you stock valuation if you use it.
By: Guest | Posted on: Apr 13 2022 at 09:16:15 AM | I use minimrp so that I identify what I need and only buy what I need when I need it. I therefore don't have much stock anyway.
I'm also of the opinion that any stock I do have is worth the current price not what I paid for it. So I think this will work for me.
By: Guest | Posted on: Oct 19 2022 at 11:12:16 AM | I am in the USA using version 5.0 Pro. I do not have "Auto-update Detail Prices" checked. However, when a PO is created for an existing component, the price changes on the component before the component is received into the system (when the PO is created). How do I fix this? Is there any way that miniMRP can store the old price on current stock and save the price for the new incoming components?
By: Support | Posted on: Oct 23 2022 at 10:59:44 AM | "Auto Update Detail prices". This option is in Setup. If this option is enabled it only takes affect when items are received from the supplier (ie during the Goods In process). Creating a PO and changing the prie of an item in the PO has no effect on the item inventory cost/value (until it's received)
Sorry. We can't split the price to hold the old price (prices) of previously received stock while using the new price for newly received stock.
