I've got v3 on my computer. I'd like to test v5 but don't want to disturb my v3 till I'm ready to switch.
Is that possible?

No problem.
When you install v5 it does not affect v4 or earlier. It installs in a different folder and creates different desktop icon. You can continue using v3 for your real work while testing v5
In v3 make a backup (little tools button at the top of the program window) and then in v5 restore that backup. You can then test v5 using real data. But, as I said above, anything you do in v5 will not affect your real/live data in v3.
If/when you're happy with v5 just do that backup one more time from v3 and restore in v5. Stop using v3 and you're all set to continue in v5.
