Topic: costs for CSAS
|
By: Steve | Posted on: Jan 21 2019 at 02:11:38 PM | Hi,
I have a CSAS which is made up of parts but I purchase the assembly as a whole, I need the assembly in case we need to sell sub items as spares in the future.
I have the suppler info and price for the CSAS, but when I save the cost is not added to the build cost of the assembly, anyway around this issue?

We need to keep the BOM so I can send it out for quotes to other contractors but when I build the top level product I don't want to treat the sub assembly as an assembly at all. IIt's just a purchased component.
In the Item Detail window I change the TYPE to ASSY when I want to edit the BOM or print out the BOM. Then when I'm finished editing I change the TYPE back to PART. Now it behaves just like any other purchased part. I created a category for such parts so they can be easily recognized in the BOM.
I don't know if that would be the recommended way but to me it really makes sense and is so easy I don't think I'd do it any other way even if I could. | |
