An Excel question really, I regularly export a CSV bom and use the data import option in Excel to produce a more presentable version to share with others.
Is there a way to save the column formatting settings so I don't have to do the same thing every time?
I've tried recording a Macro and importing into an existing sheet with much success.
Any help is welcome.

When you say column formatting I assume you mean that once the csv is opened in excel you then have to set the formatting left/right alignment of the text columns vs numerical columns etc.
Sorry. We can't do that. The CSV file format does not allow for any formatting. It's just comma delimited text. So we can't include formatting in the file.
Your idea of doing it in a macro 'could' work but I can't really offer support for excel. It's not our program and I'm no expert in excel.
There is a thing in excel where you can start recording actions. Start recording and then set the formatting. Then stop the recording and you should have a runnable function that reruns the actions you recorded. I must confess though that I've never used that recording feature to record the setting of formatting. I have used it to create macros for moving stuff around and generating reports etc but don't know if it can record the clicks necessary to set the formatting. Worth a try though?

Hi Support,
Thank you for your response, I realize it's not an MPR issue I was hoping someone had the same issue and come up with a nice solution.
