What is the difference between "Obsolete" and "Hidden" parts/assemblies? When is it intended that one should be used instead of the other?

In the standard edition of MiniMRP they're basically the same. Two separate areas with different names that you can use any way you want.
In the 'Pro' version an item can exist in more than one geographical location. If an item is marked as Obsolete it does not show in any Locations/sites. (So it's basically 'hidden' in all sites.
But if an item exists in multiple sites and one site makes the item 'hidden' then it's only hidden in that site.
In any case - if an item is hidden or obsolete - if you view a purchase order or a BOM where that hidden/obsolete item exists then it will still be visible in that PO or BOM. The idea here is that can make an assembly obsolete and it can contain obsolete parts but you can always view the assembly as it was if you need to to.
f you 'delete' an item then they are of course 'gone'.
