Just wondering, is there a way to generate a Purchase Order from the menu that shows inventory shortages when making a Work Order?

It doesn't automatically generate purchase orders.
But if you look over to the right of the shortage report there's a column of checkboxes.
Place a checkmark in the boxes of the items you want to order (or click the column header to select all items)
Then go to the purchasing menu and create purchase orders and select supplier. you'll find that when you select a supplier capable of supplying the items the items will be pre-populated into the order.
