Topic:   I need to do an inventory audit and update many items

By: GuestPosted on: Dec 11 2025 at 09:42:09 AM
I have been tasked with going through our inventory as reported in MRP and correct the actual on-hand quantities. 1,300 items needs to be "zeroed" out. Yeah, it's a mess. How can I do this at the database table level? Is there a table/field that I can adjust directly?

List 'All Components'.
Export the whole list to CSV
Open the CSV in MS Excel
Zero the OnHand Qty column or create a new column full of zeros
Import that CSV back into MiniMRP. On the import window check the box to 'Update Quantities' (in other words tells MiniMRP to overwrite the OnHand quantities with the quantities from the CSV.

BEFORE DOING THIS MAKE A BACKUP because the first time you do it you'll likely make a mistake

DIDI I say? MAKE A BACKUP. Also do it when nobody else is working so that if you have to restore the backup nobody will loss any work.

Forgot to say - when you import from CSV it doesn't actually 'import' an item if the item already exists. It just changes details of the item, such as OnHandQty, etc.

But this is where you need to be careful. When importing a CSV MniMRP looks at both the Part Number and Revision to decide if the item in the CSV matches any item already in the inventory. Both Part Number and Revision need to match otherwise Minimrp sees it as a new item and creates a new item. So, if your inventory has revisions then you need to import them too so they all match. But, as said earlier, make a backup and try it. Then check that you didn't create duplicates
