Topic: Inventory Report, blank column
|
By: Sam W. | Posted on: Apr 7 2022 at 08:26:53 AM | Hello,
In the inventory report, there is:
Part Number | Revision | Description | Type | Category | ?blank? | Bin | Qty | Cost | Total
Can I use the blank one for anything?

That 'Blank' column appears when you have more than one site/warehouse and an inventory item exists in more than one site/warehouse then that blank column will contain a [+] button and when you click that button the row expands to show the quantity, bin, demand etc of the item in the other sites/locations.
Scroll down the page and you should see one or more of the [+] buttons I'm talking about.
If you do need another column for something then double click any part number to go to the Item Detail window. In there you see a tab named "Custom Fields". If you enable a custom field then it appears as a new column on the "All Components" list and can also be included in BOMs
When you open the custom fields tab theres a help button. Click that and it explains how to enable/use them.

An example: We order chemicals, which are priced in gallons or lbs, but are packaged in 55 gallons drums. So I wanted a way to indicate to the person checking inventory that if there is 1 55 gallon drum of a unit, to write down "500", not "1"
For now I'll write the uom in the part name or description, since those are the two fields that show up on the printable report.

The Custom columns can be made visible in that grid.
Same thing in Assembly parts lists and BOMs.
Not sure what 'reports' you mean. In the reports menu?
