If I install the JET data base version on my PC but later want to make my data accessible to other users (via an SQL data base) what is the best route? I mean, should I buy the pro version and use a JET server for now (if that is possible) and, when we need to upgrade, everything will be fine or, is there a less problematic route you can recommend?

JET is the default for all versions of MiniMRP so yes. The pro uses JET unless you specifically ask it to connect to SQL Server.
Included with the Pro version there's a migration tool - it's in a tools folder in the program folder - and you use that to migrate the JET database up to your SQL Server. You can migrate from JET up to MS SQL Server or to MySQL/MariaDB. You can also migrate back from either of those servers to JET.
