I have a component with a lead time of 20 days, raised a customer order with a Date Required of 25 days from now, but the shortages forecast shows I need to order the components the latest of 24 days from now. This would mean the component would arrive 19 days too late.
Essentially this means the shortages forecast doesnt work and so this is not really an MRP as it doesn't allow for any planning. Is this a part of the MRP that is broken or have I made a mistake somewhere?

Not sure. I need to look in to it and come back to you.
You're talking about items required on customer orders. What about items required for WorkOrders. Does the shortage report also show those with the wrong order date?

Thank you, I have replied via email but it looks like work orders and customer work orders calculate the lead times and order by dates perfectly. It's only when a component is directly on the customer order where it doesn't apply the lead times.
