If you right click a component in a parts list and pick "replace", but then cancel that operation, the next part you add will replace the component that you had previously considered replacing.

This will be in the next update.
There is no actual 'cancel' button but we'll cancel an active Replace operation if you click the [X] button to Close the little item selector window.
