Say you upgrade a part to a new revision, but still currently have inventory of that same part but earlier revision, is it possible to store both quantities of these parts under the same part number or do you need to create a second part for the new revision. Both of these parts are used in different assemblies and I want to be able to differentiate one from the other and keep track of their quantities separately.

In the item detail window - Don't click the big 'Save' button.

Look at the upper left corner of the window and there's a small (burger) menu button. Click that and select the option to "Save As".

Using "Save As" you can save as a different part with same part number but different revision number.

You now have two seperate parts that can have diferent on hand quantities and can exist in different product assemblies.
