We recently noticed that if a part does not have a default supplier and manufacturer listed in the item definition it is not appearing on any shortage reports. Is this intentional? It is causing us to miss parts that are short if someone forgot to put in the supplier and manufacturer in the item definition.

Related to this issue, I believe it may stem also from how a part supplier is entered. For example, no supplier is listed for a part and a purchase order is placed, it adds the default supplier and price and selects that supplier as default within the item, however, when you look at the item from the All components tab there is no price or supplier visible. We are having to go in and manually reselect and save the default supplier before it appears on the main screen. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks!

Leave this with me. I know it's in the ToDo list. Let me check to see where it is and see if I can push it to the top. I think it is quite serious so does need to be done quickly.

I can't reproduce this error. Items without suppliers are in the shortage reports.
What version are you using. Download again and check if the error is still there.
