A work order can be created,
Then Allocated
Then Issued/WIP
Then Finished/Completed
You don't have to go through each stage. You can create a work order and go straight to WIP or straight to completion.
Just creating a work order doesn't drive shortages. It's just a place holder. You can create work orders way out into the future to remind you or maybe tell other people what you're intending to do.
Only in the 'Allocated' state does it drive shortage reports. Maybe 'Allocated' isn't the best name for that stage but it's the stage that you tell MiniMRP that you want to start allocating materials to that work order and to include required items in the shortage report. | |

We replied to your email saying that sometimes the problem is that the same part number can exist with different revision numbers. You replied to say that that was your problem.

| By: Guest | Posted on: Dec 10 2024 at 04:30:56 AM | The shortage should have been shown on the forcast or snapshot report prior to issue, then on the "All Below Minimum" report after issue.
It does seem wrong that a negative item is not shown on the shortage report - it will if you look far enough ahead and have more demand. | |

If I straight issue the job...stock adjusts to negative and nothing shows on the shortages reports. If instead, I allocate first... all affected stock shows on the shortages reports as expected.

| By: Guest | Posted on: Dec 11 2024 at 03:50:19 AM | It's only a shortage of there is an actual Demand for the item. If you've already issued the item and gone to WIP then it's no longer a planning demand. You decided to build what you can ignoring any shortages.
After issuing the job you print the BOM again it will show you the current stock levels which will show negative telling you what you need.

You could run an 'All below zero' report but, for that that specific work order, just reprint the BOM to see the current stock levels for items on that BOM | |
