If you create a purchase order and receive part of the order then that order is not yet complete and remains in the PO list. In the Status column you will see a small blue ( i ) icon. Click that and a small window appears showing details of the receipts - ie when received. How many etc.
Also
If you look in your list of completed PO's you'll see that every row has the small blue ( i ) in the status field.
