Hi there, I have Pro edition licence users with laptops who from time to time will be working from home however they cannot access the SQL database on our QNAP NAS drive from home. What would the suggested work around be? I wondered if you could open a local database and then merge the data (if there is capacity in the program to safely do this) when you are back in office and connected to the networked SQl server? I have also looked into QNAPcloud to access the SQL server remotely but cant work out how to connect into the SQL server from this application. Any suggestions would be wonderful

Hello. There is no way to 'Merge' databases so multiple users working OffLine would not be possible.

Remote access would be the only way to go. If your QNAP device can be exposed to the internet AND if there was a static IP address or URL then MiniMRP should be able to connect.

Of course we're ignoring the security implications of exposing your SQL Server to the internet although lots of people do do it. None-Standard IP Port, Very secure password etc.

But the best way would be if you create a local VPN on your company network so your external/remote employees can connect to your company network then they would be able to do everything that they can do when in the office including connecting to your QNAP (without exposing the QNAP directly to the internet). Your Computer Department would be able to set that up for you.
