Topic: Work order fill quantity for assemblies
|
By: Mike | Posted on: Feb 2 2022 at 07:15:18 PM | We just started using miniMRP for work orders and inventory management, before we were strictly reacting to customer orders and buying parts based on visual checks. Most of our products are assemblies which are shipped from stock so we want to set inventory minimums and fill quantities for them. After using it for awhile I believe the Fill Quantity only relates to purchase orders. When that assembly goes below the min the shortage report only shows assemblies that are needed to fill customer orders, not customer orders + fill quantity to bring inventory back up.
Is there a way to set a fill amount for an assembly so that a work order can be generated if the assembly goes below the minimum and inventory is refilled?

But I do understand what you mean. We can automatically populate a PO with the quantities to bring stock up to the fill level so, for "Build For Stock Work Orders" we ought to prepopulate the Work Order with a suggested build quantity.
That just never occurred to use before.
All I can do at this stage though is put it in the wish list.
