Topic: Work Orders with Multiple Assemblies

I've only been able to get MiniMrp to make one work order per assembly. This makes it very difficult to process a large customer order that can have up to 20+ assemblies. I kind of hacked it by assigning all work orders from a customer order the same Work Order #, however the system still requires you to open each one up separately.
Our dream is to be able to create a single work order with all of a customer's items and get a report on how much material that order will utilize.
We would also like to do this for building inventory to have the product on hand.
Is this possible with Mini MRP? | |

| By: Support | Posted on: Nov 15 2020 at 06:51:45 AM | An assembly (a product) can be comprised of multiple sub assemblies. In that case a work order to build the top level product would automatically include all the sub assemblies.
But if your Customer Order contains more than one separate product then you do need a work order to build each separate top level product. | |

The goals would be to have it simplified under one work order/manufacturing order to the production team and provide a report of what materials will be needed for the customer order (for all the different 50 products). | |

When I have a customer order to make a few different types of product I create a new top level assembly using the customer's name/order number as the part number. I then edit that assembly to insert the required products as sub assemblies. I can then create a single build-for-stock work order to build that imaginery top level product. That takes all the components for all of the customer's products out of my inventory.
If the customer places another order later it's often for the same things so I just edit that assembly - or create a new one.
This works fine for me although I never have the need to to do it for 50+ products | |

Support, We sell cut and sewn manufactured outdoor gear products like pouches and bags that are in different styles, sizes, and colors. Our manufacturing is outsourced locally, however we cut and provide our independent contract manufacturers with all the materials for them to sew the products. | |

I have a manufacturing site, and sale office.
At manufacturing site, I am manufacturing 10 to 20 items per day at quantity of ~100kgs each. I keep those as stocks.
Then packing portion of the above stocks into boxes as final products and sell/ship to ONE customer (internal customer / my sale office).
With the current app I am using, everyday I enter 1 work order, and 1 sale order to my sale office.
Then, for my sale office, I use another app to manage my sales (to consumers).
I hope Work Order can add multiple items.
I am using trial mini MRP Pro, but hope to see things that fit my daily.
I hope mini MRP Support team will look into this!

I am using Inflow, you can try and extend your try from 2 weeks to 4 weeks, just ask them!
I am using Inflow for 2 years, in my experience, Inflow UI is very straight forward, easy to follow.
In the SKU you can define your BOM and when there is Work Order, just at the SKU you want to build and done for a day!
I will learn mini MRP more to decide between saving cost vs convenience.
