Parts List Editor

This is an 'Indented' view of the parts list. This is a Multi-Level Assembly - it contains SubAssemblies. The indents in this list emphasize the different levels.

In our example items 13 to 17 are indented to the right at level 2 indicating that they are contained inside item 12. But you'll see that items 18, 19 and 20 are indented further at level 3. This tells us that they are contained inside item 17 which is 'also' an assembly.

When you have multi-level assemblies the quantities of items can get a little confusing. Look closely at item 17. You'll see the Qty Per column is 2 indicating the quantity required to build one mouse. And because item 17 is an assembly it means that everything contained inside it must be multiplied.

The Total columns shows us the quantity of everything that we need to build one mouse and in the bottom right corner you see the total build cost of all of those components.

If you were costing up a large project you can change the BOM Qty and hit the [$] recalculate button to instantly see the total quantities and the total cost to build any quantity.

The view on this page is a full indented parts list showing everything down through all levels - this is the default mode. But you can switch instantly to the top level via the Levels button near the top right corner of the window - see the next page
